King Kong and The End of The World, is a video animation
composed of 1100 drawings. Each drawing is prepared with
mixed media on paper and has an approximate size of 8 x
11 inches. These drawings were used to develop the 4 minute
animated video. King Kong and The End Of The World was completed
in the year 2005, and was made in collaboration with New-Zealand
based 3D artist, Russell Lowe. King Kong is an edition of
10 with an artist proof. King Kong and The End of the world
was screened for the first time on the 25th of November,
2005 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Naples Italy.(
Pallazzo delle Arti di Napoli), Italy in the exhibition
Napoli Presente, curated by Lorand Heghy. In December 2005
it was exhibited at Pulse Art Fair in Miami, in the booth
of New York Gallery, Gallery Sixtyseven. In the year 2006
the video was screened at the following events: at the Guggenheim
museum in New York (lecture organized by Renee Vara), at
the Drawing Center in New York, in the show
Emerging Animators Screenings, at Pulse Fair New York
in the booth of New York Gallery, Gallery Sixtyseven, at
Scope Fair New York, in the show The Jaundiced Eye,
curated by David Hunt and in the show, Perpetual Art Machine
curated by Lee Wells, at Arte Fiera in Bologna, Italy in
the booth of Fabio Paris, at Gallery Videomiart fair, in
Milan, Italy, in the booth of Not Gallery Contemporary Art
Factory, Naples. King Kong and the End of the World was
presented at several international movie and video
festival like the IndieLisboa Film Festival, in Portugal,
Independent Exposure film festival, in Houston, Melbourne
International Animation Festival, Australia, Outvideo Festival,
Russia, and Cineambiente Film Festival in Turin, Italy.
. In May 2006, the video was the subject of a solo exhibition
in Barcelona, Spain at ADN Gallery. |
